The writing style really kept me going。 I applaud the author for putting into words the haunted house atmosphere and experience。 It could have been a 5 star read， but I had a some issues with how he wrote women， sort of sexualized them a bit。 I found the same issue with a book of Stephen King。 But perhaps， it's my personal preference or I am a bit too sensitive and making a big deal out of this。 Rating: 4。5 stars The writing style really kept me going。 I applaud the author for putting into words the haunted house atmosphere and experience。 It could have been a 5 star read， but I had a some issues with how he wrote women， sort of sexualized them a bit。 I found the same issue with a book of Stephen King。 But perhaps， it's my personal preference or I am a bit too sensitive and making a big deal out of this。 Rating: 4。5 stars 。。。more

Didn’t know this was independently published when I ordered it but I know why now… It was really bad！Not scary at all and so so long。 How can the writing or a book be so pretentious at the same time as being not good at all？ Don’t Waste your time if you are looking for something scary… Read a Grady Hendrix instead （actually good and scary）。

Over all this was a really good book and definitely worth the read， I really like the concept of the house being alive rather then just things in the house being spooky。 The characters seemed a bit stereotyped for me I didn’t connect very deeply with them but I’m also not a writer 🤷🏻♀️

The first half is basically The Haunting of Hill House， with modern characters。 The second half is GREAT！ Fantastic， spooky， twisty， and engaging until the very end。
